About the Role

This is your opportunity to make a real impact as the trusted payroll expert our employees rely on. You'll be at the heart of our business support operations, processing accurate payroll, resolving complex issues, and continuously improving our systems and processes. As our Senior Payroll Officer, you'll leverage your Chris 21 expertise to streamline operations, enhance quality, and deliver outstanding service to our internal stakeholders. You'll be empowered to raise issues, advocate for employees, and drive meaningful improvements that make a difference.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Process Payroll with Precision: Utilise Chris 21 HRIS software to deliver accurate, timely payroll for our employees
  • Solve Complex Challenges: Investigate and resolve intricate payroll issues, identifying root causes and implementing lasting solutions
  • Support Our People: Be the go-to person for employees, providing responsive, professional guidance on all payroll matters
  • Drive Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements that increase quality and efficiency
  • Leverage Technology: Maximise software capabilities to optimise payroll operations and service delivery
  • Advocate and Escalate: Confidently raise payroll concerns to management and champion employee interests
  • Collaborate Effectively: Partner with HR, Finance, and stakeholders across the organization to achieve seamless payroll outcomes

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • 5-8 years' payroll processing and administration experience
  • Proven ability to resolve complex payroll discrepancies and issues
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and employee service skills
  • High attention to detail with exceptional accuracy
  • Confidence in raising concerns and advocating for employees

Highly Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Chris 21 HRIS software
  • Experience driving process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Knowledge of modern awards and enterprise agreements
  • Strong Excel skills and analytical capabilities
  • Track record of enhancing payroll quality and service delivery
