Bethanie is a leading not for profit aged care provider based in
Western Australia. For over 70 years, we have been empowering
ageing Australians to lead their most meaningful lives by
recognising 'old age' as a positive force in society
and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell
the tale.

We are currently seeking an experienced Kitchen
Hand to join the team providing support services at
Bethanie Waters Aged Care Home located in Port Kennedy. Co-located
with a retirement village, Bethanie Waters is one of our larger
sites with 160 beds and provides support for people who need
24-hour care, including those with high care needs and
dementia.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience
or an interest in food preparation and be of a friendly
nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our
culture.

The successful applicant will form part of our
casual pool who provide relief across both morning
and afternoon shifts, as well as on weekends and public holidays.
You may also have the opportunity to be trained in and work across
the roles of Domestic Assistant / Cleaner and Laundry
Assistant.

About You

  • Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a
    Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar
    environment
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and a genuine
    compassion for our residents
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a
    team
  • Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The
    Bethanie Group
  • Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to
    apply for one)

The Role

  • Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation,
    kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
  • Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
  • Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and
    general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
  • Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and
    cutlery
