Role

The Study Hall Supervisor & Environmental Coordinator supports the Senior School team by managing and documenting the schools late to school process, supervising study hall, managing student behaviour, and assisting with administrative tasks. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the school's environmental sustainability efforts by encouraging eco-friendly practices and supporting students with environmental initiatives.

  • This position's hours are 8:30 - 3:15pm. Applicants must be able to work 5 days per week.
Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position will be to:

  • Supervise the Senior Study Hall space to ensure it remains a quiet and focused environment for student learning. This includes monitoring student behaviour, minimising noise, and redirecting students who are socialising, eating, or using devices inappropriately.
  • Enforce College expectations in the Senior Studies Centre, including:
  • No food or drink except water.
  • Appropriate use of mobile phones and headphones for learning purposes only.
  • Kitchen access for Year 12 students only, with minimal noise.
  • Use of Senior Studies toilets limited to Year 11 and 12 students.
  • Manage attendance by recording late arrivals (Period 1) and ensuring students sign in for Study Hall (Periods 2¿5). Inform Year Level Coordinators of students who are frequently late or of concern.
  • Monitor and manage student movement, ensuring students have appropriate passes when leaving for lockers or the toilet.
  • Provide general supervision of the Senior Studies Centre, including supporting students during cancelled classes and assisting with administrative tasks as directed by the Assistant Principal or Principal.
  • Foster a respectful and responsible study environment by offering academic redirection and encouragement when needed.
  • Promote environmental responsibility by supporting the College's sustainability initiatives within the Senior Studies Centre.
