Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role combines frontline supervision with practical trade work, ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. You'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting our production teams to minimise downtime, and leading a high-performing maintenance team that keeps our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the maintenance team - supervise electricians and apprentices to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work across our manufacturing workshops and distribution centre.
- Maintain equipment reliability - perform and oversee planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime, optimise performance, and manage costs effectively.
- Champion safety and compliance - drive a strong safety culture, ensuring all maintenance activities meet WHS, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and grow team capability - coach and mentor team members, fostering technical growth, cross-skilling, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate and improve - work closely with production, engineering, and external contractors to plan maintenance schedules, troubleshoot issues, and lead improvement projects under Lean/TPM frameworks.
- Contribute to investigations and audits - participate in root cause analysis, inspections, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions and sharing learnings across the team.
Education / Experience / Technical Requirements
- Australian A-Grade Electrical Trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience managing a team of trades or technicians.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) and maintenance planning tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Sound understanding of WHS legislation and a strong commitment to safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
