Rare opportunity to join the senior ranks of an award-winning digital agency team, delivering intelligent, creative, and high-performance SEO campaigns for Australia's leading brands.
About us:
Living Online is a multi-award-winning digital marketing agency powered by some of the brightest minds in the country. For more than 16 years we've pushed the boundaries of digital marketing to create some of the most intelligent, creative, and outstanding campaigns that Australia has ever seen.
We're the type of agency that turns brilliant ideas into incredible outcomes. Here's some of our greatest hits:
- Delivering more than 30 million extra visits per year through SEO for one client alone, equating to 470% growth in a little over three years.
- Generating millions of dollars in yearly Google Ads savings for leading companies, often eclipsing 80% improvements in ROAS from previous campaigns.
- Being trusted with one of the largest Facebook Ad campaigns in Australia for six years running, enabling hyper growth for one of Australia's best-known and fastest-growing brands.
- Growing multiple publishers and SaaS companies through to $100m+ acquisitions and public listings.
- Designing and developing websites that power some of Australia's well-known companies and winning a bevy of awards for this work.
About the role:
Our team is growing fast and embracing new challenges, so we're looking to hire a new Lead SEO Consultant to take us to the next level.
This is a critical role in the growth of our company. As a senior member of the Consulting team, you will be given the opportunity to elevate the agency to new heights of excellence.
Reporting directly to the Managing Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:
Complex SEO campaign delivery – you will lead strategic, full-service SEO campaigns, including planning actionable sprints, conducting in-depth research, and aligning SEO with broader digital marketing ecosystems.
Technical SEO excellence – you will be a powerhouse with SEO tools, systems, and frameworks across the full gamut of SEO focus areas, including technical SEO, site architecture, content, on-page, and off-page.
Complex SEO project planning – you will be adept at project planning and execution for multiple clients, balancing team resources, short-term KPIs, and long-term goals while ensuring top-tier quality.
Complex account management – you will lead client relationships, run strategy sessions, resolve issues, and drive growth by delivering value beyond metrics, earning trust, referrals, and retention.
AI & emerging technologies – you will embrace your AI-obsession and voracious appetite for learning to spearhead the growth of our AIO / GEO service and shape the strategic direction of the agency.
Leadership – you will provide leadership through example and set the standard for high-performance achievement, inspiring, challenging, and supporting the team to achieve their goals, while also helping to recruit and train new talent.
Product and service innovation – you will use your innovative mindset to drive R&D of new tech, improve systems, design services, and evolve our knowledge base to maintain operational excellence and innovation leadership.
What we're looking for:
We're seeking someone with 8+ years of experience in SEO, preferably with agency experience, ideally combined with tertiary qualifications in marketing, media, technology, or other associated disciplines. Additional digital marketing coursework or master's level degrees will be looked upon favourably.
You will have expert-level experience with:
- SEO Tools – including Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Bing Webmaster Tools.
- SEO Technologies – including XML sitemaps, schema, structured data, mod_rewrite, 301 redirects, and other core SEO fundamentals.
- CMS – WordPress, Shopify, and other popular CMS, as well as the ability to recommend SEO strategies that consider broader UX considerations.
- Data – advanced analysis, reporting, and data visualisation capabilities, enabling you to make executive-level decisions and recommendations.
We're looking for someone who embodies a continuous improvement mindset, pro-actively embracing the opportunity to create a legacy of excellence. You will dare to dream of audacious goals, while having the tactical ability to prioritise resources and translate big picture thinking into operational outcomes.
As the successful candidate, you will be an individual who thrives in a small and dynamic agency that punches above its weight, possessing the ability to collaborate with team members, whilst enjoying the autonomy to work with new and existing clients to support their needs and expectations.
What's on offer:
When we invite you to join the team, we'll be offering you:
- A competitive salary and benefits structure.
- A high-calibre peer group and an industry-leading agency team.
- The ability to help shape the future direction and strategy of the agency.
- A hybrid and flexible working environment that includes incredible travel perks.
- Weekly team events, monthly team socials, and a fantastic office vibe.
Your application:
To apply, please provide your resume with an accompanying cover letter that describes how your experience matches the role and why you think you're a great fit for the team.
We appreciate the time taken by candidates in submitting your application and would like to respectfully advise that only short-listed candidates will be contacted.
