About the Company

Safety Direct Solutions Pty Ltd (SDS) is a registered Training Organisation (RTO #51632) who through the Operations Division, employs Emergency Response, Emergency Service Officers as well as Paramedics to provide services on our client's onshore mining and offshore Oil & Gas sites across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients depend on our team to prepare, respond to and effectively manage any emergency situation.

About the role

Safety Direct Solutions is seeking experienced Emergency Response Technicians to join our expanding operations in Cairns,QLD.

As an Emergency Response Technician, your role will be crucial in providing the delivery of Emergency Response and Critical Risk Management capability onsite. 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining operational readiness
  • Participating in ongoing Professional Development Activities
  • Reporting all issues and concerns through the correct channels
  • Ensuring documentation is accurately completed and records maintained
  • Applying professional conduct at all times

Essential Skills, Certifications & Experience

  • Confined Space Rescue
  • Undertake Vertical Rescue
  • Operate Breathing Apparatus
  • Provide First Aid
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Work Safely at Heights
  • Eligible to obtain National Police and Defence Clearance
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ethic toward maintaining positive team dynamic
  • High personal standard of dress and bearing
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role – Fire & Rescue Service, Mines Rescue, Medical Services.

Desirable

  • Certificate IV in Health Care
  • Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
