Specialised Pavement Services is the largest provider of Road Sweeping / Suction Broom Equipment and Services in Australia.

We are presently seeking SWEEPER-TRUCK OPERATORS with MR/HR truck licence to fulfil our service obligations.

This position will be based at SINGLETON.

The work involves sweeping maintenance of specified road networks for Local and State Governments. Along with performing your role to the highest level of safety and quality, you will be responsible for routine and daily checks of your vehicle in harmony with all National Heavy Vehicle Laws and Company regulations. Some mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and plant concepts advantageous but, not essential.  Plant to be operated includes HINO trucks and MacDonald Johnson range of road sweepers. These are Left Hand Drive vehicles.

  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated, reliable and flexible about working hours.  This position has generally early starts (03:30am to 13:30). It is a core roster of Monday, Wednesday and Friday and SPS and the successful applicants will look to fill the role on Tuesday's and Thursday's between Newcastle and Singleton with other works.  This will include a minimum of one weekend per month ( Sat+Sun) on a 4 week rotation that we will discuss at interview.

This role requires a clean bill of health and a good fitness level to alight from the vehicle many times a day.  There is a requirement for some manual labour operating leaf blower/rake /shovel etc.  You will be required to undergo a full medical check.  An Industry (Work Cover) White/Blue card for construction is required.

While previous experience is an advantage, we are prepared to train candidates who display the right qualities or those who can demonstrate previous experience operating similar plant & equipment. This style of work suits a mature person
