About the company/role:
  • Well-known food/beverage manufacturing company
  • Located in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania
  • Seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Quality team
  • 5 weeks casual contract (covering leave in the team)
  • Part-time hours (3-4 days a week including weekend work)
Duties, but not limited to :
  • Collection of samples
  • Chemical and microbiological testing of samples
  • Sensory testing of samples
  • Calibration of instruments
  • Assisting in production issues and internal audits
  • Ensuring GMP standards
  • General housekeeping
Full training will be provided.

Skills/experience:
  • Bachelor of Science (majoring in Food Science, Chemistry or closely related discipline)
  • Previous laboratory or dairy experience would be highly advantageous
  • Reliable and good work ethic
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
