experienced mc livestock driver

Join the team of experienced livestock MC operators at Frasers Livestock Transport.
A day in the life of the Green team - you'll be on the Darling Downs, Western or Central Queensland one day, next day across the border taking in ocean views on the Pacific.
About Us:
Frasers Livestock Transport is Australia's oldest family owned livestock transporter where livestock and trucks are in our blood. Great people have got us to 80+ years and you'll join that legacy working far and wide for loyal customers.
About the role:
You'll be a fair dinkum operator ready to get in and have a go with a team of other great operators behind the wheel of an iconic green Kenworth T-659. You'll work alongside a crew of loyal staff, based out of a network of depots, workshops and saleyards including mechanics, washbay crews, boilermakers and saleyard drovers which means - you can make a mile on the road and when you're on a break … you are home
As an experienced operator you will:
• Safely operate a truck with 'moving' freight in both rural and regional roads as well as metropolitan traffic conditions.
- Carry out safe & efficient handling of livestock with animal welfare as a priority.
• Operate anything from single trailers, B-Doubles to Quad Road Trains and everything in between and be confident to change between these combinations to suit the load.
• Carry out daily safety checks, diagnose and report faults and be prepared when the need arises (with tools of the trade) to conduct basic roadside maintenance to keep you moving.
• Be a strong communicator, communication is key to the business of stock transport and drivers are an essential link in all communications - filling out the necessary paperwork, liaising with the Operations team, customers and saleyard drovers and keeping the workshop and maintenance teams up-to-date.
• Maintain a level of fitness to load/unload livestock (drivers are required to enter confined spaces, operate loading ramps/slide gates etc.), able to react quickly and confidently work safely at heights (up to 4.6m) and meet TruckSafe driver medical conditions. Furthermore, trucks are fitted with Seeing Machines for your added safety.
• Not be affected by drugs or alcohol and we conduct random screening
• Be polite and wear a uniform with pride. Drivers are the face of our business and first impressions and behaviour count so presentation and attitude is paramount.
