Position Overview

As a Sushi Maker, you will be responsible for preparing and creating a variety of sushi dishes in a restaurant setting. You should possess strong culinary skills, an understanding of food safety, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sushi Preparation
  • Create various types of sushi (e.g., nigiri, maki rolls, sashimi).
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients.
  • Food Safety
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Regularly check the storage and handling of ingredients.
  • Customer Service
  • Interact with customers to understand their preferences and needs.
  • Provide professional recommendations and suggestions.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure an efficient workflow.
  • Participate in daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Experience
  • Previous experience in sushi making or a related kitchen role is preferred.
  • Skills
  • Familiarity with various sushi preparation techniques.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Certifications
  • Relevant food safety certifications are a plus.
  • Passion for Japanese cuisine and a willingness to learn and improve skills.
