About the role:

We're looking for a Rust-first Tech Lead who thrives on scale, impact, and purpose. In this role you'll own critical services end-to-end, design clean architectures, and write a bunch of code.

You'll set the bar for code quality and maintainability through thoughtful reviews, design patterns, and a pragmatic approach to optimization. You'll mentor engineers on complex programming topics (scalability, consistency, fault tolerance) while partnering with product, QA and architecture teams to turn tricky problems into elegant, well-tested solutions.

If you love squeezing milliseconds without sacrificing readability—and leaving a codebase better than you found it—this is your seat.

You'll join a high-performing, mission-driven team building applications that touch
millions
of lives — and scaling them to reach
billions
.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical leadership to a high-performing in-house development team
  • Develop and integrate RESTful, WebSocket and RPC endpoints for microservices-based architecture.
  • Design solutions to deploy Machine Learning models and LLMs with an emphasis on inference speed and scalability.
  • Develop fault tolerant event driven solutions using Kafka / Azure Event Hub / AWS MSK
  • Design and implement data solutions using SQL, NoSQL and vector databases
  • Designing cloud agnostic solutions based on Kubernetes
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high code quality.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience developing software in the Rust language
  • 8 years of experience in one of more of the following languages (Rust, C, C++, C#, Java)
  • 3 years of experience in a tech leadership capacity
  • 3 years of experience in full stack engineering including front end languages like Javascript or Typescript
  • Proven experience developing with various API communications protocols (REST, Websockets, GraphQL)
  • Strong understanding of event driven architectures
  • Strong understanding of data structures & algorithms
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving ability
  • Self-motivated and a track record of learning new technologies

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working with Machine Learning or LLM AI models
  • Sound understanding of OWASP and the best web security practices
  • Experience with ingesting and processing high volume analytical and transactional data

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and creative development.
  • Flexible working hours with hybrid / remote work options.
  • A vibrant, collaborative team environment.
