Community Development within the City of Marion uses an evidence-based approach to identify and address challenges that impact community wellbeing. Utilising qualitative and quantitative data to inform our priorities, we advocate for equity, build capacity, and work in partnership to create sustainable, positive change in the community.

Reporting to the Team Leader you will build capacity and aim to achieve best outcomes for the community through some of the following deliverables:

Build and maintain strategic relationships: develop partnerships and collaborations that support capacity building and collective impact initiatives to assist in meeting identified community needs.

Utilise datasets to inform project areas: regularly analyse data to identify trends, prioritise resources and develop targeted partnerships and initiatives.

Actively participate in relevant sector networks: engage, support, learn from and inform local, regional, and national networks eg: youth, community development, disability, inclusion.

Best practice and continuous improvement: stay informed on emerging trends, research and best practice frameworks relevant to community development.

Provide positive leadership across Council and externally with key stakeholders in the fostering of Youth Engagement and Community Development approaches.

To be considered for this opportunity it is expected you have prior experience in a similar role and possess strong project management skills to be able to research, develop, implement and evaluate initiatives to meet aims and outcomes of strategic and operational plans. A background and qualifications in Community Development or Public/Population Health would be advantageous.

In addition, you will need to possess exceptional interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build networks, foster partnerships, and establish trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

This is permanent role working with the Projects and Partnerships Team, within a welcoming culture, you are able to contribute to the overall wellbeing of our community.

The successful applicant will have to undertake relevant (Child/Vulnerable/Aged/Disability) DHS Screen(s) and checks and have a valid SA driver's license.
