Senior Contributions Officer

About the opportunity:

As the Senior Contributions Officer, you will undertake a range of development contributions matters in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, and other legislation. You will demonstrate a sound understanding of a contributions plan, have the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers, you will be able to participate in negotiations, and considered financial implications.

To succeed in this position, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Degree qualifications in Town Planning, Social Planning, Asset Management, Project Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, Financial Management, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated relevant work experience including implementing and administrating a Contributions Plan.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating, implementing and monitoring development contributions, planning agreements or works in kind agreements in a growth centre or priority precinct context.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements under the NSW Government Act.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Local Council, State Agency or private sector in a Sydney Growth Centre of area experiencing high growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively with all levels of Council and the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level customer service to internal and external customers in what may be unusual or complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and innovation when investigating, analysing & solving problems or taking advantage of opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete ongoing planning involving complexity to ensure effective contribution to work programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply accounting principles and legislation relevant to an organisation.
