The Role: Senior / Staff Cloud Engineer – Azure & Kubernetes
We're expanding our team of top-tier Engineers, driving impact across multiple high-profile projects in Australia. This is an exciting time to join DevOps1, as we continue to make waves in the industry, partnering with leading clients on their digital transformation journey.
At this senior level, you'll design, build, and operate modern cloud-native platforms with a focus on Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD. You'll be a trusted advisor to clients, helping them adopt best practices while remaining close to the technology. What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable platform solutions on Azure cloud.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Helm).
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes (AKS) clusters and containerised workloads.
- Establish and optimise CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment practices.
- Ensure cloud environments are secure, reliable, and cost-optimised.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to align platform delivery with business goals.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in multi-cloud (Azure and AWS) environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to DevOps1's culture of continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer / Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer at a senior level.
- Expertise in Azure cloud services, landing zones, and best practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and container orchestration.
- Solid background in Terraform, Helm, and GitOps (ArgoCD).
- Familiarity with AWS environments (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and with clients.
- A passion for solving complex problems and delivering high-quality outcomes.
