The core of our business involves the management of complex, large scale assets for key clients that incorporate an integrated mix of different land uses (plantation species & agriculture) and the effective application of all plantation based carbon methodologies (schedules 1 – 4).

This exciting new position has been created to play a leading role in the next stage of value optimization for these critical assets and would be well suited to an experienced senior forestry resource modeller with a strong background in radiata assets.

About the role

This newly created role will primarily be responsible for managing all aspects of the resource description for this estate and will be a critical conduit between the asset's strategic and tactical plans for our operational teams.

Key responsibilities for this unique role include:

• Overall management of the asset's resource description to effectively support the annual review of the strategic plan and budget for the estate
• Actively support the business with accurate and timely data for scheduled client reporting as well as periodic information requests
• Overall responsibility for the management and application of the 'highest and best use' framework sitting alongside the financial model to help drive value optimization decisions
• Preparation and provision of all required information necessary to support the biannual asset valuation process
• Develop a deep understanding of the estate to help inform proactive scenario modelling analysis focused on improved value or risk management outcomes.
• Develop highly effective relationships and communication with key internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of the above.

In essence, we're looking for a suitably experienced person who prides themselves on maintaining high standards of resource description integrity and are highly motivated by the ongoing challenge of extracting additional value from the estate in collaboration with a great team of people who are also driven by the same.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• At least five years' experience in forestry resource modelling with an ideal background in radiata assets
• Very high proficiency in developing and managing detailed financial forestry and/or land use resource models using Tigermoth or similar applications
• Strong data analytics with a commercial focus
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• Both the desire and ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team environment
• Undergraduate qualification in Forestry (or equivalent).

Ideally, you'll also have a good understanding of the carbon methodologies that relate to commercial tree plantations.

Whilst this role would preferably be Melbourne based, the location can be flexible for the right candidate.
