We are currently seeking experienced and qualified HD Fitters and Drill Fitters to join our client, Rio Tinto, on long-term assignments. Up to $87 per hour based on experience with super paid on all hours. These roles are available across multiple sites and offer a mix of rosters, including 8 days on/6 days off (all days), or 8 days on/6 days off followed by 7 nights and 7 days off.

Role Overview

As a member of a highly skilled mobile maintenance team working in a well-equipped workshop, you will be responsible for both planned and emergency maintenance on a large mining fleet. Some of the equipment you will work on includes:

  • Komatsu dump trucks (both mechanical and electric models)
  • Hitachi diggers
  • D10 and D11 dozers
  • Pit Viper Drills (models 275 and 271)
  • Loaders
  • CAT watercarts
  • Graders (up to 24M)

About You

To be considered for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working on large mobile mining equipment
  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent Heavy Diesel Trade
  • Possession of a C class manual driver's licence (HR licence is advantageous)
  • Current National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated field service and breakdown experience within a mining environment
