The Star Care Group  plays a crucial role in delivering care and support to the individuals with disabilities in their homes and out in the community across the Perth metro area & regional area. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and fast paced HR Team. This is a newly created position to work alongside our Services Manager, Rostering Manager & Managing Director, as a HR Administrator you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks related to HR functions, including recruitment, employee onboarding, record-keeping, and general HR support. The role also involves a range of functions including support of the end to end employee life cycle, use of our Employee Management systems and managing organization wide compliance and correspondence. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

As our HR Administrator, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive workplace environment and ensuring the well-being of our employees. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from posting job listings to conducting interviews, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.

Employee Documentation: Ensure necessary documents of employees are up to date.

Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, resolve conflicts, and promote a harmonious work environment.

Performance Management: Develop and implement performance appraisal systems, provide feedback, and assist in career development planning.

Staff Compliance: Ensure all staff adhere to compliance requirements, including maintaining up-to-date records of certifications, training, and policies. Conduct regular compliance checks and update policies and staff handbook as necessary to align with current legislation.

Training and Development: Identify training needs for the support workers, coordinate training programs online or face to face, and support employee growth and development. Train and demonstrate to support workers the proper use of wheelchair lifts in vehicles.

HR Metrics: Compile and analyze HR metrics to make data-driven decisions and improve HR processes.

Technical Skills and Adaptability: Experience with software tools such as Xero, Happy HR, and Deputy, along with strong Excel skills for compiling and analyzing data—or a willingness to learn.

Work Under Pressure : Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Eligibility Criteria:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in HR and administrative roles is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of HR administration.
  • Proficiency in HR software and tools for record-keeping and analytics.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute positively to our workplace culture.
  • Strong understanding of Fair Work and the SCHADS Award.
