Job description:

  • Location: Fulham Corrections Facility
  • Role Type: Ongoing, Part-Time 0.6 FTE, approx. 22 hours per week
  • Remuneration: Starting from $77,201.60 inclusive of super (pro rata)

About The Role:

As a Student Support Officer (internally known as Koorie Tutor), you'll work closely with teachers to provide one-on-one and group support to First Nations students in custody. You'll help learners stay engaged, build confidence, and prepare for life beyond incarceration.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Koorie students with coursework and learning strategies
  • Providing mentoring and encouragement to build confidence
  • Creating a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Offering culturally responsive support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a bonus, but not essential.
