Core Responsibilities:

• Champion safety always, working in full compliance with GLNG site rules, Santos permit-to-work systems, and all applicable WHS legislation and procedures.
• Adhere strictly to GLNG site access protocols, including valid inductions, pre-start attendance, PPE requirements, and daily safety briefings.
• Perform installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding on HVAC systems across site buildings, accommodation units, switch rooms, and plant HVAC assets.
• Maintain full compliance with refrigeration and environmental regulations, including handling, recovering, and logging refrigerant gases per licensing requirements.
• Complete all job documentation, permits, and compliance records accurately, including SWMS, Take 5s, and field maintenance reports.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, and non-conformances immediately in accordance with GLNG's incident management protocols.
• Participate in toolbox talks, permit meetings, and safety inspections, actively contributing to a zero-harm work environment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and corrective tasks according to the site's maintenance schedule, work orders, and GLNG asset management systems.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, contractors, and Santos representatives to ensure work is prioritised, permitted, and executed in a compliant and professional manner.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and mobile plant are inspected, tested, and tagged, and used in accordance with site and legislative safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying potential efficiencies, safety enhancements, or equipment reliability issues.

The ideal candidate:

• Experience with top firms like Downer, Ventia, AG Coombs, Wood Group, or Santos contractors (e.g., Veolia, Thiess, CPB).
• Worked on GLNG, Curtis Island, Santos shutdowns, or remote camp HVAC projects.
• Dual trade (HVAC + Electrical) highly preferred; holds valid RTA/ARCtick certification.
• Electrical disconnect/reconnect licence (restricted or higher).
• Skilled in HVAC maintenance, fault finding, and operating independently in remote settings.
• Familiar with Santos permit-to-work systems, SWMS, Take 5s, and Lockout/Tagout.
• Proven compliance with confined space, heights, and hazardous materials procedures.
• Safety-focused with strong site compliance record and documentation skills.
• Fit for DIDO/FIFO rosters; reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
• Holds White Card, driver's licence, and able to mentor junior trades when needed.

Essentials:

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick).
• Construction White Card.
• National Police Clearance (within 12 months).
• Valid Driver's Licence.
• Ability to pass full pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol testing.
• Ability to complete SWMS, Take 5s, and permit requirements.
• Proven experience working in remote or live plant environments.
• White Card.

Desirables:

• Low-Voltage Rescue (LVR) and CPR Certification (highly preferred).
• Dual Trade (e.g. HVAC + Electrical).
• Electrical Licence (Restricted or Full QTP/QBP).
• Confined Space & Working at Heights tickets (current).
• GLNG site induction and Santos permit-to-work system familiarity.
• CPR / LVR certifications.
• Fire Warden / First Aid.
• AroFlo or similar job management system knowledge.
• Previous LNG or Curtis Island experience.
