What will your typical day look like?
We are seeking an Associate Director with outstanding in-depth experience across Higher Education.
Specifically, you will demonstrate a deep understanding of the Australian higher education landscape, including university value drivers, operating environments and models, and the evolving competitive landscape, spanning public and private providers, TAFEs, and emerging global education models. Additionally, you will bring knowledge of how universities function, including key services, research activity, partnerships, and ways of working across academic and enterprise areas. You will also have a solid grasp of how key trends and technology advances such as artificial intelligence are reshaping the sector, and an ability to translate this into strategic, actionable recommendations that address complexity and client needs. With preferred experience in strategy, operating models and performance, including leadership in technology and business transformation programmes.
As an Associate Director, your day-to-day responsibilities may include;
Leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of a project team(s) and taking ownership of a project's direction and its outcomes
Managing client relationships on projects and proactively building strong relationships across the higher education sector
Leveraging your deep strategy expertise and skillset to work collaboratively with clients to help solve their key business challenges
Leading project management including managing project financials and proactively identifying and addressing project risks as they arise
Assisting Directors and Partners with defining project scopes and requirements
Identifying and pursuing new client opportunities and business development activities, including leading or contributing to proposal development activities to shape, scope and win new packages of work
Coaching and mentoring junior team members within our practice, investing in their career journeys in addition to your own
Contributing to the growth of the broader practice through thought leadership and knowledge sharing whilst helping support team recruitment, onboarding, learning and culture

As an Associate Director, you will likely possess a tertiary degree with an outstanding academic record, coupled with demonstrated strategy consulting experience in a Tier 1 consulting firm, strategy boutique or a strategy team within a university. In addition, you will demonstrate exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to exercise mature judgment.
You will have highly effective communication skills and a proven ability to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders (DVC, C-suite). Additionally, you will have a track record influencing, driving outcomes and developing new opportunities.
As an Associate Director, you will have proven team leadership, strong mentoring and people management capabilities, and a record of developing effective and efficient work environments that enable others to work to the best of their abilities.
