About The Role
As our Principal Policy Officer, you will be at the forefront of driving evidence-based policy advice for the Minister, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in the administration of animal welfare compliance and enforcement.
You'll lead a team of dedicated policy professionals and technical experts, championing reform and delivering robust, well-balanced solutions that improve outcomes for animals, communities, and government.
In This Role, You Will
- Provide strategic leadership and inspire a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Shape and oversee the delivery of critical reforms in animal welfare legislation, compliance, and enforcement.
- Engage with senior leaders across government and external stakeholders to influence, align, and deliver impactful policy solutions.
- Represent the Department on key cross-government and interjurisdictional forums, advocating for the Government's priorities and values.
- Drive high-quality decision-making through critical analysis, risk management, and strategic resource planning.
