Project Overview:Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Job Summary:In this role, you will assist in interpreting and integrating health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations. You will provide input and technical guidance, assist with communications, track performance trends, and conduct inspections and monitoring. Your work will help keep employees safe by contributing to continuous improvement of project health and safety.
Major Responsibilities:- Assists execution of the safety component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
- Helps prepare and implement Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training program.
- Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to assure that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
- Interprets safety and health requirements and provides comprehensive assistance on plan preparation, risk assessment, and ESH program execution.
- Researches moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.
- Provides support and guidance for safety studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits.
- Participates in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
- Interfaces and communicates with stakeholders and helps resolve their concerns.
- Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Conducts ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
- Degree or Gradate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area related to occupational safety or health and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
- Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis.
- Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Be solution orientated with effective and efficient time management to deliver a quality product.
- Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis.
- Ability to work respectfully in a diverse team environment.
- Previous refinery/chemical/LNG plant construction HSE experience is preferred.
