Who We Are:

Bloomfield River State School

Bloomfield River State School is a co-educational institution that serves students from Prep to Year 6. Located 80 km south of Cooktown, the school enjoys a scenic coastal setting with three distinct ecosystems: beach, river, and dense rainforest. It caters to the communities of Bloomfield, Ayton, and Wujal Wujal. The school has three multi-age classrooms, and its curriculum is based on the Australian Curriculum achievement standards, contextualized to fit the unique environment when possible. Language plays a crucial role at Bloomfield River State School, with the Indigenous Language Program Kuku Yalanji being taught across all year levels. The school values strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the broader community, founded on mutual trust, respect, and shared responsibility for student education.

Pormpuraaw State School

Located on the west coast of the Cape York Peninsula approximately 700km north-west of Cairns, Pormpuraaw is a beautiful small remote community well known for its coastal location, impressive sunsets and plentiful fishing. Pormpuraaw State School has a culture of care and of high expectations, inside and outside the classroom. The team at Pormpuraaw State School pride themselves on their commitment to the students and families of the community and regularly go beyond expectations to provide the best possible educational outcomes for all students.

Lockart State School

Lockhart State School is a remote indigenous school situated in the community of Lockhart River on the eastern coast of Cape York Peninsula. The community is approximately 760km north of Cairns nestled between Quintell Beach and the Iron Range National Park. To understand the school context of Lockhart State School, one must acknowledge the history and recognise and respect the cultural and language diversity of the community.
