Job Description

With a proven track record in delivering major aviation projects nationally, WT delivers innovative, data-driven solutions that support the growth and transformation of this critical sector.

As part of this growth, the WT Sydney office continues to expand with high-profile new engagements landing and with existing major projects underway and more in the pipeline, we're on the lookout for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the growing team.

Ideally seeking those experienced in Aviation or other similar major project environments, delivering complex expansion and refurbishment projects in a live operational site.

This role will perform a traditional quantity surveying functions as well as offering strategic guidance, procurement strategies and commercial management to ensure projects are financially sound and aligned with long-term operational goals.

This role is responsible for:

  • Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
  • Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
  • Master-plan and feasibility budgets
  • Cost checking of developing design
  • Value engineering
  • Tender evaluations and analysis
  • Contract negotiations
  • Cash flow projects
  • Procurement
  • Cost reporting
  • Evaluation of variations
  • Valuations
  • Final account reporting
  • Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
  • Investment analysis
  • Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Full Australian working rights and currently located in Australia
  • RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
  • Proficient in the use of Cost X
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
  • Highly motivated with a passion for delivering excellence to clients
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a team and control multiple projects/client commissions
