Zurich is embarking on an exciting technology transformation, with the ambition to become Australia's Leading Digital Insurer. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in a business-critical, high-impact initiative, driving end-to-end quality engineering under tight delivery timelines. You'll champion the adoption of cutting-edge DevSecOps, AI-powered quality practices, and security-first principles, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, regulatory compliance, and business value. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll inspire change, foster innovation, and directly contribute to Zurich's digital North Star.

Reporting to the Testing Chapter, you'll be empowered to shape and execute quality strategies that support Zurich's transformation journey. You'll collaborate across diverse teams, mentor engineers, and help deliver measurable outcomes that delight our customers and advance our digital capabilities.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Defining and executing end-to-end quality strategies, integrating AI-driven approaches to engineering, analysis, and reporting.
• Driving the adoption of AI and machine learning tools for intelligent test scenario generation, predictive risk assessment, and smart defect analysis.
• Championing a customer-centric approach, ensuring quality engineering supports customer experience, business outcomes, and compliance requirements.
• Mentoring and coaching engineers in test automation (including Playwright), secure development, continuous delivery, and AI literacy.
• Integrating automated testing (functional, performance, security, accessibility) into CI/CD workflows, leveraging automation-first and shift-left principles.
• Architecting and implementing continuous testing pipelines and AI-augmented test automation frameworks across all stages of development.

This a 15 month fixed term contract.

You are a forward-thinking quality engineering leader, passionate about technology transformation and digital innovation. You thrive in fast-paced environments, bring hands-on expertise with Playwright and other automation tools, and are eager to help Zurich achieve its digital North Star ambition.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

• 10+ years' experience in software quality engineering, including large-scale, complex projects.
• Proven leadership in designing and executing end-to-end quality strategies, applying shift-left, security-first, and AI-driven principles.
• Expertise in test automation frameworks (including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, K6, JMeter, ZAP) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered testing and analysis tools, and a demonstrated eagerness to stay current with advancements in AI and machine learning for quality engineering.
• Deep understanding of secure software development, automated functional and non-functional testing practices, test data management, and test environment orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
