About the Role
As an APS6 Economist, you will be part of a small team delivering economic research and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making on complex economic and pricing policy. You will engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding the current and future states of the NDIS supports markets and make a major impact on resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver economic research and analysis
- Apply statistical and economic modelling
- Address information asymmetries and market failures
- Work effectively across teams and departments
- Engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations
- Make major impacts on the allocation of Scheme resources
Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to understanding complex economic issues and working toward practical solutions.
- Structured thinking about quantitative and qualitative problems, and development of analytical frameworks.
- Quantitative mindset with emerging technical skills to handle and analyse data.
- Ability to simplify technical information into succinct narratives and plain English advice suitable for non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in economics and econometrics, or similar
- Proficiency with a major statistical software package (R, Python, Stata, SAS)
Eligibility/Requirements:
Australian citizens; relevant checks may be required.
