About the Client

Our client is a leading organisation in the disability support sector, dedicated to improving the lives of people living with a disability. Our team is committed to driving positive change and addressing economic challenges in the care economy.

About the Role

As an APS6 Economist, you will be part of a small team delivering economic research and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making on complex economic and pricing policy. You will engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding the current and future states of the NDIS supports markets and make a major impact on resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver economic research and analysis
  • Apply statistical and economic modelling
  • Address information asymmetries and market failures
  • Work effectively across teams and departments
  • Engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations
  • Make major impacts on the allocation of Scheme resources

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to understanding complex economic issues and working toward practical solutions.
  • Structured thinking about quantitative and qualitative problems, and development of analytical frameworks.
  • Quantitative mindset with emerging technical skills to handle and analyse data.
  • Ability to simplify technical information into succinct narratives and plain English advice suitable for non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics and econometrics, or similar
  • Proficiency with a major statistical software package (R, Python, Stata, SAS)

Australian citizens; relevant checks may be required.
