Location: Head Office – Warana, Sunshine Coast QLD

Project Locations: Varied South East QLD

Tenure: Full Time

Report To: Civil Operations Manager

Remuneration: Range $170-180k + car + super (Dependent on Applicants Quals and Experiences)

THE ROLE:

As SGQ's Senior Construction Surveyor, you will play a strategic and hands-on role on civil infrastructure projects, managing all survey requirements to ensure quality outcomes that meet client expectations and deliver value to SGQ.

Position Specific Duties

· Collaborate closely with Contract Quality Representatives, Project Engineers, and Project Managers on survey requirements.

· Generate conformance reports and report QA issues, non-conformances, and rectification processes to project personnel.

· Perform field civil survey activities for construction including but not limited to level controls, setouts, pickups, monitoring and as-builts

· Conduct survey calculations and data management using survey equipment and control systems (Trimble machines and 12D software).

· Produce accurate volume and area reports from survey fieldwork.

· Analyse design plans to identify potential issues.

· Review construction documents for client quality requirements, including survey records.

· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client site representatives.

· Maintain survey equipment, perform self-testing, and arrange third-party calibration as per manufacturer requirements.

Business Development & Innovation

· Stay informed on industry innovations in construction surveying and recommend implementation to optimise SGQ's project delivery.

· Apply project surveying systems, technology, and equipment effectively to support civil infrastructure projects.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with project staff and client representatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

1. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

· years + experience

· Survey Tertiary Qualifications as required for registration with Survey Board of Queensland

· Strong communication skills

· Experience on Road Construction Projects and/or other transport infrastructure

· Experience in use of 12D Model Software & Trimble Machine Control Systems

· Ability to apply survey principles to civil infrastructure construction

· Ability to carry out investigations of non-conforming product and report on such

· Strong computer literacy as required for generating, uploading and reporting on survey activities as well as managing large datasets.

· Construction White Card

· Valid Driver's License

DESIRABLE

· Registration as a Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ) or interstate/international equivalent

· Exposure to Department of Transport & Main Roads projects and ISO Standards
