Senior Speech Pathologist

Work Type:
Full-time

Reports to:
Allied Health Director & Clinical Operations Manager

Location:
Norwest, Sydney

Hours:
38 hours per week

Position Purpose:
As a
Senior Speech Pathologist
with our client, you'll take a leading role in shaping high-quality, evidence-based therapy services for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental needs.

Beyond clinical delivery, this position is about
influence, mentorship, and leadership
— setting the tone for excellence, driving engagement across the team, and helping embed the team's vision of empowering neurodiverse individuals to thrive in all aspects of life.

You will be a key driver of clinical culture: guiding best practice, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and ensuring therapy remains person-centred, outcome-driven, and aligned with the mission to create long-term independence and community inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Excellence & Leadership

  • Deliver high-level speech pathology assessments and therapy for children and adolescents with communication and developmental challenges.
  • Lead by example — model clinical excellence, best practice documentation, and strong therapeutic relationships.
  • Provide clinical mentoring, coaching, and guidance to early-career clinicians and allied health assistants.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of therapy frameworks, service models, and outcome measurement processes.

Team Engagement & Culture

  • Foster a positive, motivated, and purpose-driven team environment.
  • Help translate the vision into tangible daily practice — driving consistency in tone, tempo, and client experience.
  • Champion innovation and growth across the service, promoting buy-in and engagement among peers.

Family & Community Partnerships

  • Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and educators to enhance outcomes beyond the clinic.
  • Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and consultative support for schools and community partners.
  • Develop practical strategies that empower families and schools to maintain continuity of care.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, and other allied professionals in joint care planning.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, early intervention programs, and community partnerships.
  • Provide input into clinical service planning, ensuring integration across disciplines.

Governance, Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and reporting.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards consistent with registration body requirements.
  • Support adherence to governance, risk, and quality frameworks.

About You:
You are a motivated and values-driven clinician who thrives on purpose, teamwork, and impact. You bring a mix of clinical skill and emotional intelligence — capable of inspiring others, capturing vision, and leading through engagement and example.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and current registration with SPA.
  • Minimum
    3+ years of clinical experience
    (paediatric experience highly regarded).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Genuine passion for contributing to a bigger purpose and driving positive change.

Desirable:

  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior clinicians.
  • Familiarity with NDIS, early intervention, and school-based therapy models.
  • Experience contributing to service development or clinical projects.

Why this client?

  • Be part of a passionate, collaborative, and growth-oriented team.
  • Work in a supportive environment that values innovation and personal development.
  • Help shape the next generation of allied health professionals while making a real difference in children's lives.
