The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia's deepest underground mines. and one of the worlds highest-grade copper mines. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs over 500 people including contractors.

About the Role:

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the servicing, repair, and maintenance of a fleet of underground mobile plant equipment, including:

• Loaders (e.g., Sandvik LH517, CAT R2900)

• Trucks (e.g., Sandvik TH663, CAT AD45)

• Drills (e.g., Sandvik DD421& DS421, Epiroc Simba E7)

• Ancillary equipment such as IT loaders, Telehandlers, Agi's & Spraymecs

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on heavy diesel equipment

• Perform scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs

• Conduct inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance

• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to improve fleet reliability

• Maintain accurate service records and follow site safety procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent)

• Experience in underground mining maintenance (preferred but not essential)

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Conditions:

Commute options include subsidised residential housing, DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane or Sydney.

Candidates interested in DIDO or FIFO will be provided with single accommodation plus meals at the mine camp, and commute to and from site. CSA also provides Pool & Gym reimbursements to our employees and their dependents.

Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions.
