Job Description

As a Principal Over Head Wiring Engineer, you will have a pivotal role leading our Overhead Wiring team, focussing on delivering complex overhead wiring systems within the Sydney Trains portfolio, with opportunities to support projects such as Penrith Area Remodelling, Western Sydney Freight Line, and Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2.

You will also have the opportunity to work on landmark railway projects across the ANZ region, for clients like Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains, V-Line, Queensland Rail, Aurizon, Public Transport Authority Western Australia, Melbourne Metro and Yarra Trams, to name a few.

How you'll make a difference

  • Lead and deliver systems for major New South Wales rail projects.
  • Work on current and future programs including Sydney Metro and West Sydney infrastructure.
  • Manage workload, costing, and scheduling across teams.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of local and interstate engineers.
  • Provide technical guidance aligning with with TfNSW OHW standards (1500V DC).
  • Collaborate closely with Sydney Trains SMEs.
  • Support business development, commercial activities, and project tenders.
Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of OHW/OLE systems experience
  • Minimum 5+ years delivering projects for Sydney Trains
  • Expert in TfNSW (Transport for New South Wales) OHW standards and experience in 1500V DC systems and 25kV AC OHW systems.
  • Proven experience managing projects and mentoring junior engineers
  • Strong commercial acumen and bid/tender experience
