Makinson d'Apice is a progressive law firm built on its history of excellence. We are looking for a Discharge Paralegal to join our busy Banking and Finance team.

Position Overview

The role of the Discharge Paralegal is to action and co-ordinate the efficient processing of mortgage discharges and partial discharge requests, instructing solicitors and ensuring settlements are finalised without issue.

The role may require (workload permitting) providing additional admin support to the wider banking and finance team on an ad hoc basis.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will see you managing the discharge process and you will be responsible for:

  • Timely processing of discharge enquiries and requests including attending to PEXA an LSR workflows
  • Effective and accurate processing of partial / full discharge requests, security information and fee charges
  • Ordering and reviewing property searches
  • General file management and administration, including billing

Qualifications

  • Completed HSC or equivalent.
  • Certificate II or III in Business Administration through TAFE (completed or currently undertaking)
  • Previous and relevant experience in home loan finance - mortgage and customer service
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word) and basic skills in Excel

Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years' experience working in a similar role, ideally within a law firm or banking industry;
  • Experience of commercial loan products and 'off the plan'
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy;
  • Strong administrative capabilities with the ability to juggle tasks with multiple priorities, booking settlements with various banking institutions on the PEXA platform
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and multi task;
  • Strong team ethics and ability to work as part of a team;
  • Professional attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • A proactive, self-starter who displays initiative and a 'can –do' attitude with a strong willingness to learn.

The role can accommodate 4 days per week with one day from home for the right candidate
