St Joseph's Nudgee College is seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our Facilities team.

As our Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the College's buildings, grounds, and facilities remain safe, functional, and well-presented for students, staff, and families. This is a hands-on role where every day brings variety, from repairs and upkeep to safety checks and grounds maintenance.

Working closely with the Facilities Manager and broader Property Services team, you will:

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas
• Perform general maintenance and repairs (painting,blockages,pool testing, fixing doors, assembling furniture)
• Ensure all College areas are safe, clean, and hazard-free
• Coordinate with external contractors when required
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and respond promptly to requests
• Support the smooth daily operations of our vibrant learning environment

You are a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of safety, reliability, and professionalism in a child-focused environment.

You bring:

• Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role
• A valid driver's licence and reliable transport
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A friendly, professional manner and a commitment to excellent service
• A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain

Additional desirable experience includes:

• A valid Pool Operator Licence (training available for the right candidate)
• Knowledge of maintaining heritage buildings and structures
• Practical understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
