The Team:
Join our award-winning team of Clinical Nursing and Midwifery Educators and Clinical Facilitators who work across the North West of Tasmania as patient safety guardians. We build the clinical skills of the whole multidisciplinary team to respond to patient deterioration. We develop innovative evidence-based programs to build the clinical competence of nurses across the spectrum of practice. Participate in whole of health service simulation exercises. The Role:
Clinical Nurse Educator at the Mersey Community Hospital in the perioperative environment requires extensive experience as a perioperative nurse, specialising in anaesthetics and post anaesthetics care unit or in endoscopy and scrub scout roles. As an educator you will be responsible for developing the competency of newly registered nurses and nurses new to the perioperative environment.

You will need:

  • To be a Registered Nurse with extensive perioperative experience
  • Interested in developing the skills and competence of a team of perioperative nurses
  • The ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you would like to join our team until 21 November 2026

Salary:
$114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning
  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in the area of clinical/practice speciality as relevant to the position
