About the role

Latrobe Family Medical Practice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Nurse to join our dedicated team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for leading and managing our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and the smooth operation of our medical practice. Based in Latrobe, TAS 7307, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local community.

What you'll be doing

  1. Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the nursing team, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance management
  2. Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care
  3. Collaborate with the practice manager and medical team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards
  5. Assist with the planning and delivery of staff training and development programs
  6. Represent the nursing team and advocate for their needs within the broader practice
  7. Continuously seek opportunities to improve nursing workflows, processes, and patient outcomes

What we're looking for

  1. Registered Nurse (RN)
  2. Demonstrated expertise in nursing care, with a strong understanding of primary healthcare practices and procedures
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead, mentor, and motivate a team
  4. Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies
  5. A commitment to evidence-based practice and a passion for providing high-quality patient-centred care
  6. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask
  7. Relevant qualifications or certifications in nursing management or leadership
