Transmin is a world-class OEM provider of innovative engineered equipment, and aftermarket parts and services to the mining resources and bulk material handling industries, throughout Australia and Internationally.

Transmin is experiencing significant growth and is currently engaged in a variety of exciting projects. To support our expanding Operations team, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing assigned projects and contracts, ensuring that we meet our clients' expectations and fulfill our contractual obligations. This role is integral to upholding Transmin's core values of Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and commitment.

About the Role

  • Manage capital contracts to meet client expectations and contractual  obligations, whilst maintaining Transmin's requirements for safety, profitability, efficiency, quality, and performance.
  • Manage and drive the procurement of goods and/or services required for projects minimizing total costs whilst maintaining requirements for quality, quantity, timing, and availability.
  • Consult with Workshop to efficiently schedule labour and resourcing requirements to maintain the project schedule and contractual delivery timeframes.
  • Manage costing's, records and produce commercial, technical, and financial reporting for assigned projects as required, including but not limited to Work in Progress schedules.
  • Manage and drive project invoicing requirements.
  • Consult with the Operations Manager  and  other relevant departments to  develop and maintain appropriate systems of work and standards for critical capital project management activities including but not limited to, risk identification and mitigation, communication (internal and external), cost control, project administration, record keeping, quality control, and continual improvement.
  • Travel to site as and when required.

About You

  • Certificate level in Project Management or equivalent relevant experience OR.
  • Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering Qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls and instrumentation an advantage but not essential
  • Understanding of typical commercial contractual terminology.
  • Experience in interpreting, negotiating, and fulfilling contractual obligations.
  • Excellent understanding of risk management and mitigation.
  • Ability to manage and maintain project scope including management of variations with external and internal stake holders.
  • Proven ability to successfully apply cost control concepts and measures to maintain project budgets.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project; Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV an advantage but not essential.
