Practice Nurse / Medical Secretary – Part-time (2 days per week)
Are you looking for a flexible role where you can use your nursing skills while also gaining valuable administrative experience?
Professor David Clark, a highly regarded colorectal surgeon based at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside, Chermside, is seeking a friendly and organised Practice Nurse / Medical Secretary to join his supportive team.
This is a permanent part-time role, working 2 set days each week (Monday & Wednesday), with the opportunity to cover additional hours during holiday relief and occasional sick leave relief.
About the role
This varied role offers the best of both worlds – hands-on nursing and professional administrative responsibilities. You'll be an integral part of a small, welcoming team that values patient care, efficiency, and a positive work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Chaperoning patient examinations
Assisting with minor procedures (e.g. rigid sigmoidoscopies, haemorrhoid banding, suture/staple removal)
Providing post-operative follow-up calls and arranging appointments
Booking patients for colonoscopies and theatre
About you
This role would suit a Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, or someone with previous nursing registration (current or lapsed) who enjoys variety and working closely with patients.
You will also have:
A warm, professional phone manner
Strong written communication and typing skills
Basic computer literacy (Shexie knowledge desirable but not essential)
A friendly, confident, and self-motivated approach
Surgical or endoscopy experience is helpful but not essential – training will be provided.
