Guidance, Navigation & Control Algorithms Engineer

Australian Citizens only (due to Defence project requirements)

We are seeking a
Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer
to join a growing Adelaide-based team developing advanced UAV and autonomous flight systems for the defence and aerospace sector.

This role will see you contribute to the development of sophisticated
control algorithms, navigation software and flight dynamics models
supporting cutting-edge autonomous aircraft and mission systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and test guidance, navigation and control algorithms for UAV flight systems
  • Develop simulation environments for performance validation and hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Integrate sensor fusion, state estimation and trajectory optimisation techniques
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across software, avionics and systems engineering
  • Support verification, validation and flight testing campaigns

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechatronics, Robotics or related discipline
  • Strong background in control systems, dynamics, or flight mechanics
  • Proficiency in
    C++ or Python
  • Experience with
    Kalman filtering, sensor fusion
    or
    autonomous navigation algorithms
  • Understanding of
    embedded systems
    or
    real-time software
    highly regarded
  • Australian citizenship is
    mandatory
