We are currently recruiting a Vegetation Works Programmer to join our Operations, People and Safety division.

We are currently recruiting a Vegetation Works Programmer to join our Operations, People and Safety division. This role reports to the Vegetation Shared Services Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient planning and scheduling of vegetation maintenance activities across Essential Energy's electricity distribution network.

The Vegetation Works Programmer is responsible for developing feasible resource plans and rolling work schedules, collaborating with contractors and internal teams to optimise resource utilisation, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy's operational footprint .

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 12-month and 3-month rolling forecasts and work schedules.
  • Collaborate with contractors and internal stakeholders to prioritise vegetation maintenance activities.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and resource analysis to support planning decisions.
  • Monitor contractor and field crew availability and utilisation.
  • Ensure schedules meet safety, certification, and equipment requirements.
  • Support job readiness by coordinating prerequisites such as traffic control and access agreements.
  • Analyse delivery performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You

As a Vegetation Works Programmer, you will bring strong analytical and planning skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. You will have experience in resource planning, scheduling, and vegetation management, and be confident working with data, systems, and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications/Skills

Mandatory:

  • Advanced Diploma in Business, IT, or Program Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Current Driver Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing vegetation maintenance contracts.
    Qualifications in Mathematics, Statistical Modelling, or Data Analysis.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in resource planning, scheduling, or demand forecasting.
  • Knowledge of vegetation management and electricity distribution networks.
  • Proficiency in planning tools and business systems (e.g. XUGO, Microsoft Office).
    Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
