Vectiq is looking for an experienced
Satellite Communications Engineer
to work as an integral part of a collaborative ICT infrastructure and engineering team within a Federal Government agency.
Work will be onsite in Canberra.

  • 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options
  • Australian Citizens with active NV2 clearance (mandatory)
  • Canberra location – onsite role

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain satellite communications systems (GEO and NGSO)
  • Conduct technology assessments and support high-level solution design activities
  • Plan and deliver high-availability WAN services using satellite connectivity
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, including design and maintenance plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Travel regularly to domestic and international sites for deployment and maintenance

ABOUT YOU

  • 5+ years' experience in
    satellite communications engineering
  • Strong understanding of
    RF and microwave communications
    including testing and optimisation
  • Demonstrated experience delivering
    resilient, high-availability WAN services
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and work in cross-functional teams
  • Experience supporting
    government or defence satellite projects
    (highly desirable)
  • Ability to
    mentor junior engineers or field staff
    (desirable)
