Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our growing team on a Full-time (1.0 EFT) ongoing basis.

The role of the Senior Mental Health Nurse is:
- Provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership across mental health services, supporting excellence in care and workforce capability.
- Lead and mentor Advanced Practice Nurses and clinical teams, fostering professional growth, supervision, and integration within multidisciplinary services.
- Oversee and advance nursing education, workforce development and research strategies to build capability and embed evidence-based practice.
- Ensure robust clinical governance, compliance with accreditation standards, and delivery of safe, person-centred trauma-informed care.
- Drive service improvement initiatives, quality outcomes and innovative ideas model of care in line with organisational priorities and national reforms.
- Collaborate with executive leaders, clinical directors and external partners to strengthen service delivery and consumer outcomes.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- Current registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing.
- Master's level qualifications and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior nursing role.
- Advanced leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence service delivery, and drive workforce development.
- Strong clinical expertise with a commitment to recovery-orientated, evidence-based and person-centred care.
- Proven ability to contribute to education, research, quality improvement, and service reform within complex health systems.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Located in the picturesque region of Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) offers the perfect balance between career and lifestyle. LRH cares for a population of about 300,000 and is the regional provider of specialist services. Our catchment covers 42,000 square kilometres, from Phillip Island to Mallacoota in the far east of Victoria. LRH offers cardiac care, surgery, medical, renal, emergency care, aged care, women's and children's services, pharmacy, allied health and rehabilitation. Medical and radiation oncology are offered by the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre.
Now is an exciting time to join the LRH team, with the $223.5 million expansion completed in March 2024, offering improved maternity and paediatric facilities, larger intensive care unit, increased medical and surgical beds and additional operating theatres.
