About the Role
The Spatial Information Coordinator supports the development and maintenance of the University's Space Management System, ensuring accurate and up to date spatial data. This role involves managing floor plans, spatial records, and contributing to system updates driven by audits and projects.
Ideal for someone detail-oriented and data-driven, the position offers a blend of technical and creative work within a growing and dynamic environment. A background in facilities, space planning, or the university sector is desirable.
The key responsibilities of the position will include:
Reviewing drawings and schedules for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project and University requirements/standards, including on-site verification of geometry where required.
Updating spatial information provided by projects or operational changes, into GIS, and checking for accuracy/validity against the floor plans, for example room schedules and condition data.
Creating, publishing, storing and archiving records in the University's Document Management System, SharePoint, for use by the wider university.

About You
As the Spatial Information Coordinator, you will play a key role in maintaining and updating the University's spatial data and floor plans, ensuring information is accurate and up to date. You will work closely with various teams to support space management processes and contribute to system improvements driven by audits and projects.
You will apply your technical skills in GIS and CAD to produce detailed drawings and manage spatial records, while also helping to develop data management solutions. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and a problem-solving mindset will be essential as you collaborate with stakeholders and support the ongoing growth of the University's information systems.
About Property, Facilities and Development
This role is part of the Property, Facilities and Development (PFD) team at Flinders. Our team works across all of Flinders' places, spaces, and physical infrastructure. We work across five key areas: Strategic Planning and Customer Experience; Capital Development; Customer and Site Services; Sustainability and Strategic Projects. The team are responsible for the planning, development, capital delivery, management, and maintenance of all University spaces to ensure they are fit for purpose and support Flinders to deliver its strategic objectives.
