We are seeking a skilled, reliable and detail-oriented Industrial Painter, to join our team in Welshpool. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and applying coatings and finishes to a variety of industrial surfaces to meet various Mining and Resource client specifications, in a safe and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial painting, including surface preparation, coating applications and working with various materials in an industrial setting. Your expertise in surface preparation, paint application techniques, and attention to detail will contribute to the overall quality and aesthetics of our projects. This role is currently based in Welshpool, which is our main business operation in Perth.
Key responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for:
- Apply industrial grade paint and other protective coatings to surfaces using conventional and airless painting methods.
- Prepare surfaces by inspecting, cleaning, and removing old paint or coatings as necessary, including conducting abrasive blasting tasks from time to time, to ensure proper adhesion of coatings.
- Clean and maintain painting equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all established safety guidelines and best practices while handling hazardous materials and operating machinery.
- Adhere to project specifications and requirements, while maintaining high quality standards.
- Document completed work.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to plan and coordinate painting projects and production deadlines.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Proven experience or qualifications as an Industrial Painter or similar role in an industrial or mining and resources sector.
- In depth and recent working knowledge of a variety of application techniques and industrial coatings and products.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to and emphasis on delivering high quality standards.
- An understanding of QC coating inspection and test methods.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects in varying environmental conditions.
