Please note that this role will be site-based initially in Geelong.

The Role:

The Project Manager will oversee and manage construction projects, ensuring they are completed successfully, within budget, on schedule, and to the required quality standards. You will lead project teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.

More specifically this role roles will entail;

  • Project Planning and Initiation: Establishing the project scope, objectives, and deliverables, formulating project plans, and assembling project teams.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Creating and overseeing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and applying cost control strategies.
  • Schedule Management: Developing and updating project timelines, tracking progress, and recognizing and addressing possible delays.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interacting with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders, delivering regular updates, and managing expectations.
  • Contract Management: Supervising the procurement process, handling contracts, and resolving contractual conflicts.
  • Risk Management: Recognizing potential risks, formulating mitigation strategies, and executing risk management plans.
  • Quality Management: Ensuring that projects meet the necessary quality standards, applying quality control measures, and performing quality inspections.
  • Team Leadership and Mentoring: Guiding and inspiring project teams, offering support and direction, and promoting a collaborative work atmosphere.
  • Communication and Reporting: Ensuring clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing regular project updates, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Safety Management: Making sure that all construction activities are conducted safely, implementing safety protocols, and fostering a safety-first culture.

Competencies we're seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a Master in complementary field (Highly valued)
  • Extensive experience in construction project management, including experience with complex projects and challenging contract management processes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills .
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, contract law, and building codes .
  • Proficiency in project management software and tool
