About the Role:

As a Diploma of Nursing Teacher at The Gordon, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of Enrolled Nurses. You'll deliver high-quality, evidence-based education and training that aligns with the training package, ANMAC standards, and The Gordon's policies.

This hands-on role involves facilitating both theory and practical learning across our Geelong and Werribee campuses, providing students with a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You'll assess competence, embed industry-relevant practice, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role.  You will work closely with colleagues, clinical partners, and industry stakeholders to ensure graduates are job-ready and prepared to provide safe, person-centred care within the Australian healthcare system. While prior teaching experience in a Registered Training Organisation and an acute nursing background are highly regarded, we welcome applications from all passionate and qualified nursing professionals.

Key areas of responsibility include, but not limited to:

  • Prepare, deliver and assess vocational education and training programs, applying a variety of teaching methods, (including flexible delivery, on the job training and assessment), which reflect best practice teaching methodology.
  • Research, adapt and develop innovative learning practices and delivery options that enhance the Program area's capacity to meet the learning needs of students.
  • Provide learning programs that are inclusive for students from diverse cultures, backgrounds and abilities; and implement appropriate support and/or modified learning programs and strategies as required.
  • Contribute and participate as a member of the teaching area on a range of operational duties including course advice, student selection, enrolments, promotional activities, graduation and administrative duties.

About You:

You are an experienced nursing professional with a passion for education and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care. You enjoy working collaboratively and are confident in engaging with students from diverse backgrounds. You bring strong communication skills, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new approaches to teaching and learning.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • A relevant nursing qualification and current registration with AHPRA
  • Industry experience, with acute nursing highly regarded
  • A genuine passion for supporting students to succeed in their studies and future careers

Salary:

Teacher L1.1 to L1.2 | $79,743 to $90,944 p.a. (pro rata) | AQF4 teaching qualification

Teacher L2.1 to L2.3 | $92,266 to $102,461 p.a. (pro rata) | AQF5 teaching qualification

Teacher L3.1 to L3.4 | $105,717 to $121,462 p.a. (pro rata) | AQF6+ teaching qualification

Superannuation is paid at the current superannuation guarantee rate.
