Senior Accountant – Public Practice | Inner East Melbourne
Are you an experienced Accountant looking to take the next step in your career? We're working with a highly regarded public practice firm in Melbourne's inner east, seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants exposure to diverse clients, the chance to work closely with industry-leading Partners, and a clear pathway for career progression.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS and FBT for a variety of clients.
- Managing client portfolios, ensuring compliance with ATO and regulatory requirements.
- Managing the monthly financial close process: ensuring all costs are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparing reports.
- Providing business and taxation advice to support client growth.
- Actively reviewing and advising on accounting processes, policies, and procedures.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in a public practice accounting environment (senior/intermediate level).
- Strong technical skills in tax, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
- CA/CPA qualified
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data, identify risks, and make recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail, with the initiative to drive process improvement.
