We are a family-owned Sicilian patisserie and café with a strong reputation for quality and tradition. We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Front of House Manager to lead our team, deliver outstanding customer service, and keep the front of house running smoothly.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day café operations in the front of house
  • Lead, motivate, and train front-of-house staff (mostly university casuals)
  • Drive sales through exceptional customer service — explaining our cakes, pastries, and specials with enthusiasm, helping customers choose, and making them feel welcome
  • Manage rosters, opening/closing, and customer flow
  • Ensure service standards are consistently high
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and pastry team for seamless operations
  • Handle stock, supplies, and point-of-sale systems
  • Be a positive role model, setting the tone for the team

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in hospitality management or supervising in a café/restaurant
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Confident in upselling and product knowledge — you enjoy talking about food and helping customers discover something new
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and authority while fostering a positive team culture
  • Reliable, organised, and proactive
  • Passionate about customer experience and food service
  • Flexibility to work weekdays plus one weekend day of your choice (Saturday or Sunday)
