About the officeAbout the roleKey Responsibilities
  • Client Support: Provide frontline assistance to students and staff, resolving complex queries and delivering a positive library experience.
  • Team Supervision: Provide day-to-day supervision, training, and support to library staff and casuals involved in service delivery.
  • Coordination: Coordinate and participate in the delivery Access Services of lending, circulation, and document delivery services to ensure efficient and consistent operations.
  • Collection Processing: Coordinate and participate in the acquisition, cataloguing, classification, and end-processing of print and digital resources, applying agreed standards and procedures.
  • Promotion and Instruction: Support the delivery of research skills training and contribute to user guides and promotional materials.
  • Data and Reporting: Monitor service usage and workflows and provide reports on key areas of responsibility.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Access Librarian and colleagues across campuses to ensure service consistency and innovation.
  • Compliance: Comply with University policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and undertake other duties as directed.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Completion of a diploma and or relevant formal qualification with relevant work experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating service operations in a library or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of access services and library systems.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to solve problems independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time and competing demands effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a respectful and inclusive team culture, supervise staff with fairness and consistency, and work effectively with individuals of diverse work styles and backgrounds.
