Assistant Shift Team Leader

The Opportunity
We are seeking an Assistant Shift Team Leader (2IC) to join our Parkhurst Production Team. You will be - passionate, eager, and motivated to drive production, in a safe and effective manner, whilst provide support to the Shift Team Leader. You will gain valuable experience and training to support career direction into a Shift Team Leader position.
The Role
As an Assistant Shift Team Leader, you will gain exposure to and participate in:
- Encourage and implement safe work practices and ensure safety systems and procedures are adhered to.
- Regularly inspect the workplace for safe and healthy work practices, environment and actively promote safety amongst the crew.
- Assist in the Production planning and scheduling of Production Crews by prioritizing and allocating shift duties to ensure Production targets are achieved.
- Provide positive input to all Daily Operations Review, Toolbox and Safety & Health Meetings
- Assist in the identification, management and implementation of relevant training, re-training and upskilling activities.
- Demonstrate a full commitment to participate in QMAG's Supervisor Training and other development programs both internal and external.
- Assist the Shift Crew Team Leader to provide feedback and direction in the implementation of the Quality System within the work area.
- Assist the Shift Crew Team Leader to develop and promote clear and positive communications and teamwork within the crew.
- Identify opportunities and assist with implementing systems and procedures that reduce costs, improve equipment availability and/or increase productivity.
- Relieve as Shift Team Leader as required.
Requirements
- Minimum Year 10 Secondary Education (with passes in Mathematics and English).
- Trade qualifications and/or certificates of competencies in the following - Skid Steer, Forklift, Mobile Container Lifter (Mobicon)
- Experience in industrial mining or mineral processing environments (Desirable)
- Operating experience in mobile machinery' and/or fixed plant.
- Supervisory experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Exposure to unit cost production, with experience in planning work schedules, budgeting, and meeting deadlines (Desirable)
- Citect experience - (Desirable)
- S123/G2 - (Desirable)
