About our team
What did you have for breakfast today? Whether it's the flour in your toast or the grain in your cereal, it's highly likely that GrainCorp helped get it onto your plate.
As we find new ways to connect rural communities with food, animal feed and industrial customers around the world, we are proud to say we're leading the way in sustainable agriculture. We're keen to play an active part in the communities where we live and work.
About the role
As the Site Manager of our Walgett grain storage and distribution facility you'll lead a small team of Grain Handlers to ensure the safe, efficient receival, storage, and outload of commodities. This hands-on leadership role offers variety, autonomy, and a strong connection to both the land and local community. In this role, you'll lead a small team of Grain Handlers, ensuring the safe and efficient receival, storage, and outload of commodities across all three locations.

- Develop and maintain close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
- Coordinate and prepare for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
- Identify and report on maintenance requirements and maintain site presentation and standards
- Manage programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management
Our busiest time of the year is the annual post-winter harvest period, which can last for up to three months and involves managing several harvest casuals and contractors in receiving thousands of tonnes of grain from local growers. It's an incredibly rewarding experience seeing local grain fill up silos and bunkers, delivered by diverse, hardworking and passionate teams.
