BiVACOR is seeking a highly skilled Junior Software Engineer (JSE) to join our dynamic team in Gold Coast, Queensland. The JSE will design, develop, and test all software engineering aspects of the BiVACOR Total Artificial Heart (TAH). With a clear technical vision, the JSE will be required to facilitate and manage the design, implementation, testing, verification, and validation of the software components of the BiVACOR TAH.

The high-level responsibility of this position will require a broad knowledge and clear decision making in different aspects of software engineering across embedded system development and application development.

BiVACOR is looking for a motivated team member who is early in their career and is flexible and interested in working in a diverse range of software projects. This role requires creativity and strong organizational talent. Being able to find optimized solutions in a multidisciplinary and dynamic development will be key to the success of the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Embedded software development
  • Windows application development
  • Plan, design, develop and execute software verification and validation (V&V) tests
  • Maintain and enhance automated test system
  • Participate in other aspect of software development lifecycle

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with embedded microcontrollers and toolchains (C/C++, TI/STM preferred)
  • Experience with desktop or web application development (C#)
  • Experience with digital protocols and drivers
  • Experience with software version control tools
  • Experience with Visual Studio
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with hands-on debugging and testing of electronic components/devices is favourable
  • Experience with medical device industry is favourable
  • Familiarity with laboratory tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and related equipment
  • Familiarity with MATLAB
  • Familiarity with developing, testing and deploying web applications to Azure cloud services
  • Familiarity with industry regulatory standards such as ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and IEC 29119 is favourable

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA or MS, Engineering or Computer Science
  • 1-3 years industrial/commercial device software development experience (fresh graduates with exceptional practical experience will be considered)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Some domestic and international travel of up to 2 weeks at a time is anticipated
  • Australian work rights are required for this position
